My boyfriend has been dealing with an autoimmune disorder in his kidney for the last 4-5 years and it's slowly sending him into kidney failure. He has already been through two rounds of chemotherapy and his doctors are considering putting him through a third. He has developed problems in his skin he didn't use to have such as dry flaky patches and grade 2 acne that sometimes borders grade 3. Needless to say, the last few years have been very trying on everyone that loves Devin but the strength and resilience he shows every day is truly amazing and inspiring. MARIE SMITH CHAKIRIAN
GlyMed is helping breast cancer survivors by donating GlyMed professional products during rehabilitation of the skin after the harsh effects of cancer treatment. This program is called Marie's Gift, in honor of Christine Heathman's Aunt, Marie Smith Chakirian. Marie passed away in September 1996, but left a legacy of courage for cancer survivors everywhere, including the co-founding of Reach to Recovery sponsored by the American Cancer Society. In addition, GlyMed is committed to carry on Marie's legacy by assisting breast cancer survivors through the Women Beyond Cancer Foundation.
