Mother-Nature-In-A-Bottle

Fragrance. That forbidden “f word” in the Aesthetic Industry that we all hear. Allow me to clear the air and ease your worried mind. At GlyMed Plus, our goal is to not only give the BEST continuing education but to also provide the BEST quality products. We achieve this by using the highest quality ingredients, including essential oils for their therapeutic compounds. Although you may see the word "fragrance" listed on the ingredient deck of some of our products, rest assured it is a high-quality therapeutic-grade essential oil. We do not use Synthetic Fragrances in our products. GlyMed Plus is required by the FDA to list any essential oil used for its scent in a product as a “fragrance” on the label. PHEW!!! I told you I'd ease your worried mind, didn't I?

Essential Oils

While essential oils are great additions to any formula, they are not all created equal. There are different qualities of essential oils and are typically separated into four grades:

  1. Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils (These are what we use!)
    • The highest grade of essential oils
    • 100% pure and unadulterated (not diluted or mixed with another element)
    • Contain therapeutic compounds
  2. Natural (Organic) and Certified Oils
    • Pass oil-standard tests, but contain fewer or no therapeutic compounds
  3. Extended and Altered Oils
    • Fragrance grade | Often used in perfumes
    • Oils are extended through the addition of synthetic compounds and/or chemicals
  4. Synthetic Oils
    • Created in a laboratory
    • Do not contain any pure oils
    • Frequently used in health and beauty products

Aside from their mood-boosting aromas, they also offer many great benefits for the skin!

We’ve listed some of our favorite oils and natural botanicals, along with a few of their benefits from mother nature herself.

It is crucial to understand the different levels of quality for an ingredient to determine what benefit that ingredient is or isn’t offering. As mentioned above, not all ingredients are created and sourced equally, so it is recommended to always do your research to ensure you are getting the best quality ingredients in a product!
