"Where there is a woman, there is magic”

Every year we honor women for their achievements and successes. International Women's Day is when women are recognized for their achievements without regard to divisions, whether national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political. We wanted to spend this week highlighting some of our wonderful females that work at GlyMed Plus. Each woman was asked to talk a bit about themselves and answer one woman's empowerment-related question.

Corine Young: Social Media Educator

"I started Aesthetics school as a newly divorced single Mom. I knew I needed a career that could support my daughter and me. Aesthetics has allowed me to grow in more ways than one, and I haven't looked back. I love being able to help other women and to watch them grow."

What is a piece of advice you have for women in our industry?

"My advice for women in our industry is to make yourself the only competition. You can thrive on supporting one another and growing together instead of trying to bring others down. Women supporting other women is the only goal. "

Addison Kesler: Education Ambassador

"I enjoy things that challenge me to grow. Whether it's learning ingredients and trends in the esthetics industry, teaching myself new art techniques, or regular life lessons, growth is my favorite part of the journey. I am still only human and can't be perfect, so with that, I also have a snacking problem and can't put laundry away to save my life."

How do you feel empowered as a woman?

"How can being part of a woman-driven industry that strives to make others feel secure and beautiful be anything but empowering? Women who show not only their strength but their vulnerability is an inspiring thing to witness. Smart, independent, and successful women who learn just as much as they teach. Supportive women who cheer you on through your successes and lift you back up when you hit a low. These are the women who stand by your side as they push you to grow. Being surrounded by other women who are strong, selfless, and striving to make a difference wherever they can make me feel empowered to do the same."

Jessica Cummings: Account Manager

"I am a nurse and esthetician. I have five amazing children. I love the outdoors and shopping for antiques. I have been in this industry for 20 years, and I love it."

What gets you genuinely excited about life or this industry?

"I love making an impact in people's lives both professionally and personally. Esthetics has allowed me to do that. I love my clients, the industry, and making positive changes. I get such gratification ad fulfillment by helping clients, friends, and family with their skin conditions and educating them on caring for their skin!"

Jillian Leavengood: Account Manager

"I have been a licensed Esthetician and instructor for 20 years. On the weekends, you can find me hiking, listening to live music, and hanging out with my dog, Maxwell. Teaching Esthetics is my passion, and I love working with GlyMed Plus products."

What is a piece of advice for women in our industry?

"My advice would be to follow what your passionate about and what makes you happy. Honestly, everything comes to you when you do that. It could be anything, but be passionate about it. Also, don't be afraid to try things that scare you. Those things that bring you outside of your comfort zone are where you find growth, magic, as well as success."

Brindley Patten: Account Manager

"I have been in the Esthetics industry for seven years, and I love it. I am happy to be married to my best friend and residing in southern California."

What does success mean to you?

"Success to me can mean many different things. One of the most significant to me is just doing what I love and doing it every day and being truly happythat's when I know I'm successful. "

Abbie Dumas: Business Coordinator

"I was born and raised in Utah. I have a passion for helping others which led me to become a Master Esthetician. I am still working on pursing passions with my art while continuing to help others feel beautiful in their skin."

How do you feel empowered as a woman?

"I feel empowered because, throughout my life, I've dealt with a lot of hard trials. Rather than let that hold me back, it has proven to me that I can do hard things and made me the woman I am today. No matter what storm lies ahead, I know I can get through it."

Lacie Anderson: Fulfillment Supervisor

"I've been working for GlyMed Plus for six years. I started working on the line in the warehouse and worked my way up to management. I have two cats, Sarabi and Ariel. In my free time, I love to spend time with my family and binge-watch my shows. I bow hunt every year for elk. I also love going camping and jet skiing."

What is a quality you admire the most in other women?

"A quality that I admire in other women is strength. A strong woman is her family's backbone and leads them with a gentle hand while protecting them with an iron fist. I admire their strength so much."

Taylor Jones: Fill Room Associate

"I am 21 years old, and I have a passion for Esthetics. I am planning to finish pursuing Esthetics and then pursue nursing to learn injections. I love to sing and write music in my spare time."

What advice do you have for other women?

"Always try to stay positive and be there for other women. Try to remind yourself of that daily."

Kaycie Bleggi: Receptionist

"I have been an esthetician for a little over two years. I am obsessed with anything and everything skincare, and I LOVE working at GlyMed Plus! As I have gotten to know this industry, I realize that women are natural healers. I think that's what draws a lot of us to Esthetics; we want to make people feel loved and cared for!"

Who inspires you as a woman?

"I have so many women in my life that inspire me to be my best self, but the one that inspires me the most is my mom! She is the perfect example of feminism to me. She has made me realize that being a woman doesn't make me any less strong, hard-working, or determined than a man. I have grown up being amazed at how she can balance work and her home life so perfectly. I want to be just like her when I grow up. She is my rock!"

Sarah Robbins: Director of Education

"I started my aesthetic journey over ten years ago and am grateful every day that I did! I couldn't have picked a better industry to learn and grow from amazing, strong, and like-minded women. I love learning and teaching in a way that is easy and entertaining. It gives me a sense of purpose. I enjoy being outside, connecting with nature, and spending time with my family and two Shih Tzus, Ralphie and Winnie. Other hobbies include reading, collecting crystals/rocks/spiritual tools, and anything related to "True Crime."

What does success look like to you?

Success looks like being happy and loving what you dobeing able to wake up each day and be grateful for what you have. Surround yourself with people who inspire you, teach you, and push you to do better. We have opportunities every day to help our clients as well as each other in this industry. We should see this industry as a family, where we inspire one another."

Whitney Dickerson: Marketing Outreach Specialist

"I have been a licensed Master Esthetician for almost four years now. I love that I have grown into a role that combines many of my passions, including Esthetics, writing, and being creative. I feel so lucky to constantly be able to learn and grow from so many amazing women. I highly enjoy music, animals, and spending time with my people."

Who inspires you as a woman?

"There are many women who inspire me in my life, but one of the most influential is my best friend, Jenn. She has been one of my biggest cheerleaders since I was about sixteen, and I am so grateful to learn from her every day. She embodies strength and perseverance and has always inspired me to be myself and go after what I want in life. She shows me how powerful and meaningful it is to be a woman, and I am so grateful to be able to look up to her and know she will always have my back."

Kristen Eisenstat: Marketing Generalist

“I'm a true crime enthusiast, a devoted hockey fan, an avid book reader, and a part of the GlyMed Plus marketing team. I graduated several years ago with a Bachelors's in Communications and Public Relations and have the opportunity to utilize my creativity at work every day. I am honored to work with so many exemplary women and a company that genuinely values women's success.”

What quality do you admire in women?

“I so admire women's resiliency and ability to withstand opposition. As women, we are forced to endure a multitude of harsh voices—voices telling us that we can't, we're not doing enough, or even that we're doing too much. Navigating a world with so many vocal opinions is challenging, but women live beyond those voices and are building legacies every day!”

Jazmyn Hall: VP of Accounting and Finance

“I am excited to be joining the Glymed Plus team this month. I received my Master of Accountancy degree from Auburn University after completing an undergraduate program at Utah Valley University. I have worked in a variety of industries and is passionate about using new technology to improve processes”

What does success mean to you?

“For me, success means continuous improvement. I believe that having the goal to improve every day allows a person to live in a constant state of success, rather than living in failure for months until reaching a distant goal. If I can end every day knowing that I'm a little better in some way than the day before, that feels like success.”

Thank you to all the amazing women we are surrounded by, may we learn and grow from you! GlyMed Plus is honored to be apart of a thriving women-driven industry. Cheers to you!
